Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update – Preventing Respiratory Illnesses
Tampa Family Health Centers is monitoring the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak and is taking precautions to protect the health and well-being of TFHC patients and staff from respiratory illnesses. Please use the following information to protect yourself and your community:
- Wash Your Hands Frequently
Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub kills viruses that may be on your hands. - Maintain Your Distance
When someone coughs or sneezes they spray small liquid droplets from their nose or mouth which may contain the virus. If you are too close, you can breathe in the droplets, including the COVID-19 virus if the person coughing has the disease. - Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose and Mouth
Hands touch many surfaces and can pick up viruses. Once contaminated, hands can transfer the virus to your eyes, nose or mouth. From there, the virus can enter your body and can make you sick. - Keep It Clean
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
For more specific information on ways to protect you and your loved ones, please schedule an appointment to talk to your TFHC Provider by calling (813) 397-5300.
